Whoever said that studying had to be a chore? With the Basic Histology Flash Cards by LANGE, you have the power to turn study time into play time. With content derived from the hugely popular Histology textbook, Junqueiras Basic Histology, this app provides a comprehensive review of the subject. Great for last-minute studying on clinical rotations, this app is the perfect tool to have at your fingertips. Based on the book authored by Dr. Anthony Mescher, Professor of Anatomy and Senior Fellow of Institute for Molecular and Cellular Biology, the information in the app is not only relevant but presented in a clear, concise manner.

With over 200 cards organized according to 22 categories ranging from tissue types like epithelial and adipose to major body systems such as respiratory and urinary, this app provides a rigorous review of key histological concepts. Each card includes an image with arrows indicating a question or questions to be answered. Flipping the card with a tap reveals a comprehensive answer detailing the clinical relevance of the image provided. Test your overall knowledge by answering randomly generated questions from all categories or target areas of weakness by focusing on a specific category. Not sure of the difference between melanocytes and keratinocytes? Check out the 11 cards in the skin category. Need a refresher on the histological underpinnings of diverticulitis? Take a look at the information on 21 cards in the digestive tract section.

Why not add this visually appealing and thoroughly useful app to your toolkit? By using it whenever and wherever you can, you will not only optimize your study time but maximize your overall test results.

About the Author:

Dr. Anthony Mescher is Professor of Anatomy and Senior Fellow of Institute for Molecular and Cellular Biology. His teaching and research focus is the regenerating amphibian limb, which is able to reproduce itself completely following amputation. Growth and tissue regeneration in this system are dependent on an effect of the nerves, but the nature of the neural factor(s) which stimulate cell proliferation is not known. Mescher completed a thorough revision of Junqueiras Histology Text and Atlas and is the logical choice for the histology review card concept.
